Additional notes:

“Portal Update“ focuses on making portal rooms more interesting and their purpose clearer as well as offering an overall more polished gameplay experience.

If you’re continuing from an existing save, the portal locator might not show any text until after you’ve used a portal.

Changelog:


Sex content:

- Pruzaieuv now has a blowjob scene with two options; rough or gentle.
- Both options have additional two options to cum in her mouth or on her face.


Character content:

- When meeting Karmall for the first time, you now have the option to tackle her or not, instead of the game deciding it for you.
- When choosing Karmall’s sexual services for the first time and then bailing before fucking her, she will no longer direct her anger towards you.
- When bailing on Karmall’s sexual services in general, you now have an additional option to apologize.
- Karmall has a new talk option “What's with the cutesy persona?“ and she will continue to reference it if you choose to leave right after that dialogue ends.
- Karmall will now acknowledge that you backed out of her talking option if you haven’t said anything to her first and the dialogue changes if you have nanites or not.


Anomaly content:

- Added a new anomaly called “Missing Doorway Highlights“
- Each screen in the “Unusual Flora - Monolith“ anomaly individually switches to different images and has ‘rapid flicker’ animations and sounds.
- Added an additional 18 sinking pictures and 8 paizuri pictures to the “Unusual Flora - Monolith“ anomaly.
- When entering the garden during this anomaly, the camera will zoom in for your viewing pleasure. owo
- The bushes during the “Unusual Flora - Geometric“ anomaly regularly change their colors and transparency.
- The trees during the “Unusual Flora - Geometric“ anomaly have two new animations.
- The trees during this anomaly also swap between all of their different animations instead of choosing one and playing it on repeat.
- Added 1 new variation to the “Altered World - Slanted“ anomaly which slants the whole world by 10 degrees.


UI improvements:

- Changed the game launching from “exclusive fullscreen“ to “fullscreen“ to help with alt-tabbing. (Some Linux users reported the game held their PCs hostage until they closed it so maybe Linux friends will be happy with this change, iunno.)
- Cursor sprite has an outline and changes sprites when hovering over clickable buttons or links.
- Changed the “socials“ buttons in the Main Menu into icons and added an Itch, Twitter and Furaffinity button.
- Added a “News“ page that shows highlights of the current update.
- The audio sliders get highlighted when moused over and no longer display a decimal in their percentage values.
- Added a clarification that says you play as a human male when you’re naming your character.
- Added a “go back” sound to the main menu and pause menu.
- Made the “Welcome back to Liminal Lust” intro take up less screen space, gave it a background and it now says your name.
- Added lineart highlights to the HUD’s backgrounds.
- The HUD stats and icons in the bottom left take up less screen space.
- The area name text in the bottom right is subtly animated.
- When entering a portal room, the portal locator will tell you if that’s the room you came from or if it’s a new room.
- The portal locator plays a subtle wiggle animation when it updates.
- The Anomaly Report’s background changes color depending on if you received or lost nanites.
- The camera zooms out when you’re in the main game area and zooms back in when you’re in a portal room.
- Improved the visuals for the interact popup.
- The interact popup now shows each NPC’s name and gender after meeting them.
- The zoom animations for starting and ending NPC interactions are smoother.
- Dialogue buttons have animated icons to convey what ‘type' they are (forward, back, speaking or action) and their appear and disappear animations are smoother.


Performance improvements:

- Portals now load and unload when you go to and from portal rooms instead of always being active. (This was apparently causing lag when standing in weirdly specific areas on the game map and should be much smoother to play now.)
- Anomalies are no longer preloaded upon world load. Instead, only one anomaly will get loaded when going through portals when it’s needed.
- A bunch of background processes on certain global nodes and scenes get disabled when they’re not needed.


Overhauled Portal rooms:

- Completely reworked the portal rooms from scratch to look more interesting.
- The dinky crappy signs have been replaced by large animated screens.
- The walls are now thinner for a better background viewing experience.
- Added transparent windows, animated arrows and a sign clarifying where the portal will take you.
- Active portals have been redrawn in higher resolution, are now animated, have new visual effects and their light source moves around faster, making the shadows they cast look a bit more lively.
- Inactive portals now have a dedicated new sprite, proper Y-sort and collision (can only be experienced during the No Collision anomaly).
- Extended the world’s walls past the invisible barrier (only seen during the No Collision anomaly).
- The 'fake portal rooms' now have hallways that gradually fade away (only seen during the No Collision anomaly)


World:

- Made the Bathroom floor slightly slippery. Not an anomaly, just a thing you have to live with now.
- Repositioned some doorways and walls throughout the map.
- Changed the cloud color in the server to yellow.
- Added stretching to the doorway highlight animations.
- Added a new exploration song.


Credits:

- Added a “References“ section with links to people who’s characters are in the game. (Mostly for the “Unusual Flora - Monolith“ anomaly.)


Misc:

- Added 10 new “Liminal Lust ads“ seen in the main menu and during the portal loading screens.
- Added Dialogue box texture support. Oooo what’s that?? Who cares, it’s currently unused.
- Deleted Rananya from the game.
- Added Rananya back into the game.


Code/Modding:

- Added “Button Holder Resource“ which allows for much more scalable and manageable dialogue button instantiation. (Only Karmall uses a bit of it so far.)


Fixes:

- Some typo fixes.
